J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle Earth Considerations When Creating Your Last Will And Testament

Author: Philippe Richer

I recently published articles on this site and our sister site at www.tlrlaw.ca outlining 10 considerations when drafting your Last Will. I then asked Chat PGT to rewrite those articles in the voice of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings.  This is what came out. I enjoyed it so much, I decided to publish it.

The Noble Quest of Preparing your Legacy before leaving for the Undying Lands.

In the ancient and hallowed lands of Middle-earth, there exists a solemn and sacred duty, known to the peoples of the realm as estate management. This noble quest, embarked upon by those left in the wake of a departed soul, is of utmost importance, for it ensures that the treasures and possessions of the fallen are distributed in accordance with their final wishes and desires.

At the heart of this grand undertaking stands the executor, a stalwart and steadfast figure, akin to a noble knight of old. This guardian of the will takes up the mantle of responsibility, venturing forth to gather the assets of the estate, settle any outstanding debts, and distribute the remaining treasures to the rightful heirs and beneficiaries. Just as a knight must face trials and tribulations on their quest, so too must the executor navigate the treacherous terrain of the probate process.

The probate, a mystical and arcane rite, serves as a crucible through which the validity of the will is tested, and the authority of the executor is forged. This legal labyrinth, with its myriad twists and turns, can prove to be a formidable foe, but it is one that must be conquered in order to fulfill the final wishes of the departed.

In the realm of estate management, there are many challenges that may arise, akin to the perils faced by the Fellowship of the Ring on their epic journey. These trials may include the complexities of legal codes and the intricacies of financial matters, each more daunting than the last. Yet, with courage, wisdom, and the aid of trusted advisors, these obstacles can be overcome, and the quest can be brought to a successful conclusion.

Let us now turn our gaze to the annals of history, where we may find tales of successful estate management that shine like beacons of hope in the darkness. These stories passed down through the ages, serve as a testament to the importance of this noble duty, and they remind us that, in the end, the values and wishes of the departed can be upheld, and their legacy can live on for generations to come.

And so, dear reader, let us take heed of the lessons imparted by these ancient tales, and let us strive to honor the final wishes of those who have departed from this world, ensuring that their treasures are distributed in accordance with their desires and that their memory is preserved for all time.

DISCLAIMER

Hearken, ye who peruse these words, for they are but a beacon of knowledge, not a binding scroll of counsel. This tome, penned by a learned sage, is offered for the enlightenment of those who seek wisdom in the realms of law, yet it bears not the weight of legal guidance nor the power of a counsel’s pledge.

Know this, wanderers of these scriptured paths, that no fellowship nor bond of trust, akin to that of master and counselor, is forged by a mere perusal of these words. For such a sacred covenant is birthed only through mutual troth and solemn concord, a pact not lightly made nor easily sundered.

Should ye seek to unravel the riddles of law, specific to thine own quest or circumstance, thou art urged to seek audience with a sage of the law, a guardian of justice, who dwells within the hallowed halls at the number of 204.925.1900. Venture forth and speak thy queries, for unsought counsel, like unbidden advice, may oft lead astray.

Be wary, travelers, for words cast into the ether, unbidden and unsanctioned, shall not be cloaked in the mantle of secrecy nor held in the sanctum of confidence. They drift like leaves in the wind, visible to all who pass by.

Thus, with clear understanding and heart unburdened, may ye read on, gleaning the wisdom herein, yet mindful of its purpose and its bounds.
