About Us

We are wills and estates lawyers in Manitoba. Whether you are looking for answers to probate, drawing up a will or estate planning, we can help.

We’re Not Your Typical Stuffy Law Firm

Estates Attorneys of Manitoba is a legal practice focused on estates law. We specialize in helping executors, executrixes and administrators settle estates.

Executing a will and settling an estate is often far more complex than most people think. In most cases, working with a capable lawyer can help you get through the process much more quickly and effectively. Having an experienced lawyer can reduce your stress level and ensure you are protecting yourself from potential legal problems later.

Estates Attorneys of Manitoba is owned and operated by P.J. Richer Law Corp. Along with Estate Attorneys of Manitoba, we have two other locations in Winnipeg operating under TLR Law Office.

We’re not your typical stuffy law firm. We believe in making sure our clients clearly understand the legal issues they’re facing, so we speak plainly and listen more than we talk.

Our Values

We Make Law Accessible

Accessibility is important and with three offices located throughout the City of Winnipeg, we make sure that everyone can get through our doors and get the legal help they’re looking for.

We know it’s important to be able to speak to our clients, without the “legalese” (we hate it too!). So you can understand the legal issues that affect you.

We Care

We know that caring starts at home, with each member of our team. So when you hear “we care” we really, truly do. We care about everyone in our offices, and strive to be helpful, kind and inclusive, which helps us care for our clients and their needs.

We Innovate

Your legal issues aren’t all the same, so your legal advice shouldn’t be either. We think outside the box and develop unique methods to deliver legal services. We’re not afraid to try.

We Adapt

We are resilient and adapt to whatever is thrown our way because our clients need us to be there for them.

We Are A Team

Starter athletes don’t win games on their own. They’re surrounded by a team of key-players. We take the same approach in our legal services.

Philippe Richer

Lawyer & Principal

Philippe had worn many hats before beginning his career as a lawyer. He spent time in the army, he worked in sales, and for a brief time was a baker at a local bakery. After a divorce, Philippe decided to go to law school in Manitoba. Despite wanting to be a veterinarian as a child and an aspiring comedian later in life (no one found him funny…), he now focusses on running the firm in St. Boniface.

Philippe is also multilingual. After travelling to Mexico more times than one can count, he is completely fluent in tourist Spanish and of course French. He also enjoyed the time he spent touring Europe, experiencing the culture, food and history there. On the weekend Philippe will usually be cycling or skiing. He likes to live actively with his partner, Cheryl.

Philippe is very knowledgeable in multiple areas of law. While he used to practice criminal law, he now mainly focuses on Corporate Law, Real Estate Law, Wills and Estate Planning. He authored the business law course for the Knowledge Bureau and presented at their annual conferences.  He also taught the français juridique class at the faculty of law for 5 years.  He is currently the president of the St-Boniface francophone chamber of commerce and sits on the board of the Association of francophone jurists of Manitoba.

Cheryl Pearson

Lawyer Co-Owner

Cheryl developed her legal skills working mostly as a corporate and commercial and real estate lawyer. She has worked on a variety of commercial transactions ranging from helping sole proprietors sell their small business to very large transactions involving US parties. Cheryl enjoys the challenge of negotiating through difficult transactions and fighting for her clients.

Cheryl also enjoys spending time with her spouse (Philippe, the other co-owner), and her dog, Milou (who can often be found under her desk at work.).  They like to walk, cycle, ski, hike and run. Cheryl is an avid runner and likes to go on cycling trips with Philippe and Milou (who enjoys either running alongside, or riding in the trailer).
